Well, instead of taking a Labour Day break, I laboured hard today. We dove into a new homeschool year. Why do I always forget how exhausting that is? It’s multi-tasking to the max…and I only have three students this year! By the time I finished lesson juggling and some long overdue housecleaning, I had the energy to pop a frozen lasagna into the oven for supper before collapsing on the couch, napping until the oven timer went off an hour later. This is the face of a tired mom today. But it’s also the face of a very thankful one. Seeing the excitement of my kids as they opened their books this morning, watching them pick blackberries in the front yard together this afternoon, having their willing help with chores and meal prep, hearing their insightful comments after listening to our supper time Bible reading…SO MANY BLESSINGS to fill up all the drained places inside this weary mom.
