I had to smile this morning when my quiet time took me to Psalm 127! This was the SAME psalm God used to comfort me last time we were in the throes of house-selling and house-buying. Today, just hours before our family flies to Kingston for a week-long house-hunting trip (while simultaneously negotiating the sale of our home in Halifax), THIS is where I land in my Bible reading. Coincidence? I think not!As I worry and wonder how all these dominoes will ever possibly line up — closing dates and contracts that are conditional on the sale of a house that’s conditional on the sale of another house — I am reminded that my worry is useless.“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain” (Psalm 127:1a). Buying can’t be much different than building, can it? Juggling so much, I’m comforted by this sweet reminder of rest this morning. God is at work.
